Apple is the new owner of Shazam, the music and audio recognition App which they purchased for $400 million, as TechCrunch reports.
Whatever it is that Apple might integrate into its own business post acquisition is not quite clear yet. Something to consider, however, is the fact that much of what Shazam does is totally in synch with what Apple is working on already: AR, and added features to get more users over to the Apple Music platform.
As of September of this year, that service counted around 30 million users. Spotify, on the other hand, can boast over 60 million paying subscribers, and an overall140 million.
