Dubset raises $4M to legalize remixes

Record labels have put a stop to streaming of remixes and hour-long DJ sets, that is until each and every sample gets paid to copyright owners. The legal fiasco surrounding issues related to Spotify and Apple Music’s being able to offer the type of music that used to thrive illegally on SoundCloud is being handled by Dubset, which just raised $4 million for this purpose.
