For Musicians – What to do and what not to do on social media

Things to be considered while using social media by the musicians

Talking about social media especially for musicians, they need to know the right way to use it. To be successful in social media needs you to be smart to promote your music wisely.

Whether you are using Twitter, Instagram or Facebook, explore the things that you can consider and things you need to ignore on social media.

Things to consider

Storytelling is helpful

It is always better to share your life story along with your music. Help you fans know everything you do from recording, touring, partying to every small thing you do daily.

Follow in return

In case someone has followed your account, follow back as they have followed you because they liked your brand or music.

Linking accounts

In case you post on Instagram make sure you share that post on Facebook and in case you post it on Facebook, try to link the post through a tweet as well. It will help your audience find you everywhere.

Invest in promoting yourself

Invest a little for promoting yourself. You can hire a photographer to click press shots and post in on social media.

Things that you should avoid doing on social media

Do not buy followers

Just be genuine and organic followers surely create an impact on the audience. On the other hand, buying followers can harm the brand in the future.

Do not Spam

Do not spam the audience using tons of self-promotion techniques and irritating strategies like ‘buy music’ posts.

Do not hire others to post on your behalf

You don’t need to hire a PR agent or social media manager to post on your behalf you can do it yourself to make it real.
