Facebook keeps racking up music agreements, this time sealing a deal with the online licensing and processing hub ICE (International Copyright Enterprise Operations) – the joint venture between European collecting societies GEMA, STIM, and PRS for Music.
Facebook, Instagram, Oculus, and Messenger are covered by this license, which provides online music licensing for over 290,000 rights-holders, spanning 160 territories – as ICE explained when announcing the deal.
Seem strange that Facebook’s WhatsApp is not included in the deal? You read right, it isn’t .
