Changes in Spotify’s playlist system is a boon for artists and labels

Spotify’s playlist ecosystem is evolving

Spotify is a leading platform for artists and listeners to meet. On one hand the artists get a chance to display their talent in front of the listeners, the latter gets a chance to know everything about what is new in the industry. Off late Spotify has made some changes in its playlist system and read on to know how this change is going to help artists and labels.

As per the new change some playlists would be modified as per the tastes of the listener. The editorial team of Spotify makes thousands of playlists and each one of them is different from the rest. They are created on the basis of certain factors and that adds up to their exclusivity. However, the team realized that what may be liked by one person at one occasion may not be suitable for the other.

Spotify is going to algorithmically change all of its curate playlists to manage as per the taste of the audience. Their human-curated playlists have been exceptionally brilliant but now they plan on doing something different. Earlier there was only one playlist created by the editors but Spotify has decided to change the entire scenario.

It is with this thought that now some playlists would be customized according to the tastes of the listeners. This means that no two playlists would be similar as each has been prepared keeping the tastes in mind. Now artists and labels get a better chance to show their offering to the right audience. These personalized playlists have increased the number of artists featured by 30%. Also the number of listeners who look for a track after hearing it on a personalized playlist has also risen by 80%.

Whenever a new song gets added to the playlists it won’t reflect one very listener’s playlist. Links to these personalized playlists would be created so that the artists can share them with their fans. Now whoever clicks the link would see the personalized playlist with that song on top.

When songs would be added to the playlists the listeners would get a notification informing about it. In this way the listeners do not have to put in much effort yet they get a chance to know everything about what is happening in their favorite music artist’s life. What’s more even the artists get a chance to put their best foot forward and gain more followers.
