Facebook wants its over 2bn users to be able to start legally using music in their videos, so they are rapidly offering record labels and publishers an advance.
News is out that the social media colossal is building a system along with industry leaders capable of identifying and tagging music copyright – it will probably take two years, however, to create a platform of such proportions.
Music rights-holders have been offered “hundreds of millions of dollars” by Facebook so that it will be possible for its users to experiment with copyrighted tracks in the near future.
